Tree Study

This drawing was done for a class. When it was critiqued, I was told that the tree (or any focal point) should NEVER go in the center....Since when have I followed all the ruleS??

What a beautiful job on the shading and detail! Art isn't suppose to have rules...art is just art. And this is definently a beautiful sketch!
